Antisemitism in British Academia

A white professor penalizes a black student for once showing up five minutes late for class. Is the professor a racist? Probably not. But now assume that 10 white students regularly show up twenty minutes late for class and the professor never even considers punishing them. Chances are now that the professor is a racist.

An academic union in Britain wants to boycott Israeli scholars because of the supposed misdeeds of the Israeli government. This by itself doesn't prove that the union is antisemitic. But by any sane standard there are many governments (such as Saudi Arabia, Syria, Russia, Iran, Zimbabwe and the Sudan) that engage in vastly more immoral conduct than Israel does. The fact that the British academic union only wants to punish Israel is strong evidence of its antisemitism.
