Consumer groups protest high concert prices
From Yahoo News: "consumer groups Codacons and Adusbef protested as "absurd and shameful" [Streisand concert] ticket prices ranging from just under $200 to more than $1,200, calling on authorities to deny Streisand use of the 24,000-seat stadium."
Often the prices for concert tickets will be below the market clearing price and so people who are willing to pay for tickets won't be able to get them. Just for fun, economists should protest some sold out concert where prices are too low. We could claim that such low prices destroy value by preventing those who most want to see the concert from getting tickets.
