Why I support the Surge

If Bush's troop surge fails the additional costs to the U.S. will be relatively minor. In contrast if it succeeds the benefits will be huge. Consequently, I think one should support the surge even if there is only a small chance that it will work.

I wonder if many people oppose the surge because when considering the cost of failure they are looking at the total costs of Bush's Iraq policy and not just the marginal costs of the troop surge.
