Rent control and Global Warming
The city of San Francisco has 25 employees who work on climate control issues. (HT Megan McArdle.)
They should all work to end rent control and land use restrictions in their city. Rent control and land use restrictions greatly reduce housing in San Francisco. Consequently, many city workers live outside of San Francisco and have long commutes to their jobs. Of course, I suspect that the climate control bureaucrats will focus far more on the imagined evils of big corporations than on the environmental harm wrought by "progressive" city laws.
