Democratic candidates betray professed beliefs in global warming
I don't believe that global warming poses much of a threat. But one of the best ways of reducing global warming gasses is to use more nuclear power. And for the U.S. to use more nuclear power we need the Yucca Mountain radioactive waste storage facility in Nevada.
All the Democratic candidates believe that global warming poses a tremendous threat to mankind. And the evidence indicates that storing waste in Yucca Mountain would be extremely safe, posing no real danger to the residence of Nevada. So anyone signed on for the global warming crusade should strongly support the Yucca Mountain waste facility.
But for scientifically silly reasons many voters in Nevada are afraid of having waste stored in Yucca Mountain. And so when debating in Nevada, Clinton, Obama and Edwards all competed to show who most opposed Yucca Mountain. All three candidates want to impose hundreds of billions of dollars of costs on the U.S. economy to fight global warming. Yet none of them are willing to risk a few votes in Nevada to do something that would significantly reduce global warming gasses. Once again on global warming, superstition and politics trumps science.
