One reason why I'm a global warming skeptic

Rachel Carson should be on any top fifty list of the most destructive people of the 20th century. Her book Silent Spring led to the banning of DDT throughout most of the world. As a result of this ban millions of Africans died of Malaria. See this article for some details. (HT Instapundit.)

Yet Rachel Carson is a hero to much of the environmental movement. This voluntary association causes me to mistrust nearly everything that environmentalists stand for. If environmentalists want those outside their faith to start taking their views seriously they should denounce Rachel Carson.
