Make San Francisco a sanctuary for illegal immigrants
"Mayor Gavin Newsom vowed Sunday to maintain San Francisco as a sanctuary for immigrants."
Here are four ways that Mayor Newsom can make San Francisco more welcoming to illegals:
1) Abolish rent control. Rent control drives up housing prices in San Francisco and so makes it near impossible for poor illegal immigrants to find decent housing in the city.
2) Stop enforcing minimum wage laws. Minimum wage laws can make it difficult for unskilled illegal immigrants to find employment because the immigrants occasionally don't have enough skills to make it profitable for a company to pay them the minimum wage. By no longer enforcing minimum wage laws the Mayor would make it easier for illegals to find employment in the city.
3) Encourage Walmart to open stores in the city. Walmart sells goods at low prices and through competition causes other retailers to lower prices. The mayor could greatly help poor illegals by begging Walmart to open numerous stores in San Francisco.
4) Fight against union power. Unions try to restrict new job openings in certain industries to long time union members. Unions, therefore, make it harder for illegals to gain employment. If the Mayor could weaken union power in San Francisco he would therefore greatly aid illegal immigrants in his city.
