XM Sirius merger
The two satellite radio providers, XM and Sirius, want to merge. Critics of the merger claim that this merger will harm consumers by increasing price and reducing programming variety. If this were true, then the merger would help competitors to XM and Sirius. After all, if the combined company charged higher prices and offered less variety it would attract fewer listeners than what the two companies currently reach.
From watching Fox News I get the impression that traditional radio stations oppose the merger. This must mean that these radio stations think the merger will benefit consumers.
