While she says some deliberately outrageous stuff, Ann Coulter does have some brilliant insights. Her latest column explains why the Democrats are responsible for the mess at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

As she points out, the main problem with Walter Reed is facility maintenance. But this maintenance is done by civil servants. The Democrats have made sure that it is almost impossible to fire civil servants. As a result, the officers who run Walter Reed don't have the ability to punish poorly performing maintenance workers. So, one could intelligently argue that the Democrats bear most of the blame for the infrastructure problems at the hospital.
