John Edward: Fooled by Clinton Officials

From QandO: John Edwards said he voted for the war in part because former Clinton officials said they believed that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction. Every informed person at the time of the invasion seemed to think that Saddam had WMDs.

If you are playing blackjack and stay on a 20, you didn't really make a mistake even if the next card was an ace, because you acted optimally given your information and the odds.

Similarly, given how Saddam was acting, most reasonable observer would have guessed that he probably had weapons of mass destruction. Thus, Bush's decision to invade was correct given his information set.
