Affirmative Action II

"Though only 12 percent of California’s population, Asians make up an astounding 48 percent of Berkeley’s 2005 freshman class."

I suspect that along with Asians, Jewish students are also disproportionally represented at most elite academic institutions.

The majority group in the U.S. is white Christians. Yet because Asians and Jews make up such a large percentage of students at elite institutions, white Christians are statistically underrepresented at most schools.

If, as affirmative action supporters believe, statistical under representation implies discrimination, shouldn't supporters of affirmative action be in favor of increasing the percentage of white students from Christian families at top colleges?
