2080 Predictions

A new "scientific" report warns that "Billions of people will suffer water shortages and the number of hungry will grow by hundreds of millions by 2080 as global temperatures rise."

2080 is a long time away and humanity will be much, much richer by then. If the world economy grows at a conservative 3% per year until 2080 humanity will be 8.6 times richer. At 5% growth we will be 35 times richer. And if a technological singularity occurs then we will be billions of times richer. In 2080 it should easily be within our ability to provide water and food to everyone.
